On Monday, September 9, 2019, Coble Fire Department responded to a report of a tractor trailer on fire near the entrance to the Turney Center. After rapidly extinguishing the fire, personnel from Coble Fire Department as well as additional volunteers from Centerville Fire Department worked to contain various hazardous materials, primarily diesel fuel, from running off into the grass and soil. Over 100 gallons of diesel fuel was estimated to have runoff, the majority of which was contained by the team on scene. There was no loss of life or injuries, and the truck’s cargo was saved, although the cab was a total loss. The Coble Fire Department is grateful to be able to serve the residents of Coble as well as Hickman County.
